Learn to Knit an Easy Baby Beanie
Knit easy baby beanies that are straightforward, take a day to create and are perfect for the beginner knitter.
The lovely pattern is pretty and feels soft to touch. Perfect for newborn babies to wear on cold winter mornings. The moss-stitch is a textured knitting stitch that is simply alternating purl and knit stitches. It is very effective when using multi-coloured wool.
I hope you enjoy knitting this basic baby beanie as much as I have.

MATERIALS FOR THE EASY BABY BEANIE

WOOL
10ply (Aran Weighted) Wool
I’ve used Manos del Uruguay wool. The 10ply (Aran Weighted) wool in this range, is the Manos Maxima. It is 100% Merino, Extra fine wool which is hand dyed in small batches to create stunning colours.
This wool is perfect for the beginner knitter and is quick to knit. This wool is divine when you’re knitting a baby beanie, it’s warm, soft, and feels beautiful.
NEEDLES
5mm Circular or Straight
You can use either straight or circular needles for this beanie. The Moss stitch is not a complex pattern as the front and back of the beanie are the same.
I usually knit with circular needles so that there are no seams. Select circular needles with a shorter cord so that all of the stitches fit on.

SEW THE EASY BABY BEANIE TOGETHER
Using a tapestry needle, gently place the stitches onto the needle, and feed the wool through the stitches.
Turn the beanie inside out, and very carefully pull the wool tight, so the top of the beanie comes together. Don’t pull too tightly or the wool could break.
To secure the top of the beanie feed the yarn through a few of the stitches. If you have used straight needles sew the seams together.
